Marriage & Family Therapy
Family therapy, also referred to as couple and family therapy, marriage and family therapy, family systems therapy, and family counseling, is a branch of psychotherapy that works with families and couples in intimate relationships to nurture change and development. It tends to view change in terms of the systems of interaction between family members. It emphasizes family relationships as an important factor in psychological health.
Medication Management & Psychiatic Evaluations
Amber Hanson, PMHNP offers medication management and psychiatric evaluations to individuals of all ages for a variety of psychiatric concerns. She is credentialed with most major insurance companies and accepts sliding fee scale payment.
Drug & Alcohol Education
(4- & 8-hour courses available)
Educational course covering topics related to abuse of mood-altering substances, including substance abuse and addiction, effects of alcohol and/or other drugs on driving, physical and psychological effects of alcohol and other mood-altering drugs, and developing healthy alternatives to alcohol and drug abuse. Teaching methods include videos, lectures and class discussion of material. These courses are offered every 4-6 weeks.
(3-hour courses focusing on parenting skills)
Infant to 5-year-old course covers milestones, potty training, nutrition, consistency, effective discipline and child and parent self-control.
6 years old to 18 years old (school age) course covers rules & consequences, firm limitation, morals & values and responsibility.
Anger Management Classes
Focuses on dealing with stress, communicating empathy & respect, responding instead of reacting, changing conversation with yourself, assertive communication, adjusting expectations, forgive but don’t forget, retreating and thinking things over, de-escalation, experiencing negative emotions, “it’s not about me” and key points of the Duluth Model.
Parenting Skills & Visitation Supervision Services
Provided to ensure the safety and well-being of the child during visits with relatives.
This service also provides hands on parenting skills and redirection during supervised visitation.
Chemical Dependency Evaluations
The purpose of conducting a chemical dependency assessment is to determine the severity of the client’s problem based on symptoms and longevity of symptoms in order to determine the best interventions.
